Treatment of prostatitis

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland caused by various infections. It often continues in an acute form and is accompanied by an increase in temperature up to 37-38⁰ C, pain in the perineum and problems with urination.

normal and enlarged prostate

Untreated acute prostatitis becomes chronic and is the most common condition. In this case, the symptoms are less pronounced (pain in the lower abdomen, when urinating, sexual disorders, general weakness of the body) or are completely absent. But the consequences can be very serious. The inflammatory process is directly related to potential problems and is expressed by a decrease in libido, elimination of orgasm.

An untreated infection dramatically increases the chance of developing complications. In particular, these are the following diseases:

  • pyelonephritis;
  • cystitis;
  • prostate abscess;
  • BPH;
  • infinity.

Such consequences can be avoided if you consult a doctor in time. Take care of your health now - and in return you will get excellent health, psychological comfort and increased self-esteem, quality of sexual relations.

Causes of prostatitis

This question is relevant not only because many men face this problem, but also because most of them cannot understand where they got this disease.

Causes of prostatitis in men:

  1. Sexually transmitted infections.
  2. Inflammatory diseases of the urethra caused by conditionally pathogenic flora.
  3. Sexual dysrhythmia is an irregular, unbalanced sex life.
  4. Physical inactivity is a sedentary lifestyle.
  5. Urolithiasis disease.
  6. The presence of chronic infection centers in the body (chronic tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, proctitis and paraproctitis, etc. ).
  7. Abuse of alcohol and spicy food.
  8. Constipation.
  9. Hypothermia.
  10. Pathology of the lumbar-sacral spine and spinal cord - due to the violation of innervation and trophism of the prostate.

Why does prostatitis occur when infected with an STD? Agents of genital infections, especially gonococcus, trichomonas, chlamydia, ureaplasma and mycoplasma, initially affect the urethra in men, causing venereal urethritis. However, like any living microorganism, these infections actively multiply in favorable conditions for them, which are the mucous membranes of the urethra and prostate ducts.

Of course, if the patient consulted a urologist or venereologist on time, passed tests for sexually transmitted diseases, detected and cured the presence of a sexually transmitted infection, there will be no reason for the occurrence of prostatitis. In the stage of anterior urethritis, everything will end with recovery. However, with an advanced form of the disease, with a formal approach to the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, when an attempt is made to treat it only by taking broad-spectrum antibiotics in tablets, and as a result it cannot be cured, microbes penetrate the posterior urethra. and the prostate gland causes inflammation, i. e. prostatitis, and is more often primary-chronic. In this case, it is very easy to prevent the development of prostatitis, everything depends on the patient himself.

All you need is:

  • At the first sign of discomfort in the urethra, consult a doctor immediately
  • Take tests recommended by a urologist for STDs
  • Undergo comprehensive treatment for identified sexually transmitted infections
  • Carry out control tests after treatment to determine whether there is a venereal infection not only in the urethra, but also in prostate secretions.
  • And it is best to undergo medical prophylaxis in the clinic after casual intercourse, even before the onset of STD symptoms, to protect yourself and your loved ones from sexually transmitted diseases, especially as a cause of prostatitis.

Symptoms of prostatitis

How can an ordinary person recognize or suspect prostatitis, because its symptoms are very similar to many diseases of the genitourinary system and even other organs? How does prostatitis manifest itself? What are its first symptoms and how do they treat the development of the disease. We will talk about it in this article.

What other diseases can be confused with prostatitis:

  1. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STDs) are the most common case where a man consults a venereologist thinking he has an STD after casual intercourse. And in fact, the prostate gland became inflamed.
  2. Urolithiasis can cause similar symptoms, but at the same time, it can itself cause an inflammatory process in the prostate.
  3. Cystitis is rare in men, but its symptoms are very similar to prostatitis.
  4. Pyelonephritis - inflammation of the renal pelvis has certain commonalities in symptoms with inflammation of the prostate gland.
  5. Diseases of the scrotum (epididymitis, orchitis, varicocele) - heaviness and pain in the scrotum can be associated with these diseases, including prostatitis.
  6. Diabetes mellitus - patients note an increase in urine output, as in prostate diseases, but there is no slow flow and the volume of urine is normal or even increased.
  7. Other prostate diseases: prostate cancer and adenoma (benign hyperplasia).
  8. Urethritis.
  9. Diseases of the rectum - cracks, hemorrhoids, tumors.
  10. Diseases of the lumbar-sacral spine.

In order to make a correct diagnosis, a urologist needs not only to know the symptoms of prostatitis very well, but also to correctly prescribe tests and other diagnostic studies, as well as to be able to adequately evaluate their results.

So, consider the signs or symptoms of prostatitis:

Group 1 is a pain syndrome. That is, pain in the perineum, groin, lower abdomen, testicle, penis, rectum, sacrum, coccyx, inner thigh. It can be just pain, pulling, pressing sensations, or rather sharp, throbbing, severe pains. Sometimes a man complains of some discomfort in these areas both during urination and beyond. Often, the aching pain intensifies when sitting in a chair or in a car for a long time.

In chronic slow prostatitis, pain may decrease after intercourse. If inflammation is strongly expressed in the prostate or large calcifications (stones) have formed in the gland, pain during ejaculation is possible.

2nd group of symptoms - urinary disorders. At first there is an increase in urination at night, then during the day. The flow of urine becomes slow, the volume of each part decreases, the transparency of urine decreases, blood can be seen. With severe swelling of the prostate or fibrosis of the gland around the urethra, there is obvious difficulty in emptying the bladder. A man should tense up and wait for a while to urinate.

Group 3 - sexual dysfunction. In the initial stage of prostatitis, there is a certain increase in sexual desire, excessive excitement and premature ejaculation. In addition, due to a decrease in the production of sex hormones, a decrease in libido occurs, an erection falls. A man is either unable to initiate or complete sexual intercourse. But even when ejaculation occurs, orgasm is dull or almost imperceptible. If an erection or ejaculation is accompanied by pain, the man himself refuses new contacts, which negatively affects his sexual function in the future due to the fact that it does not last for a long time. And this leads to the progression of congestive prostatitis. A vicious circle is formed.

Group 4 - these are general symptoms. There may be an increase in body temperature, fatigue, weakness, irritability, which is associated with the presence of an inflammatory process, hormonal imbalance, and failures in sexual life. In some patients, groin hyperhidrosis (high sweating), redness of the head of the penis is observed.

There may be mucous or purulent discharge from the urethra with a fairly clear inflammatory process in the prostate.

The clinical picture of each patient with prostatitis is individual. Not all groups of symptoms are necessarily present and not all of them can be pronounced. With a chronic process in the prostate, a deleted clinic and minor symptoms are observed, but this does not make it the least dangerous for men's health.

Therefore, if you notice any of the above-mentioned manifestations of prostatitis, consult a urologist immediately. Do not delay contacting the doctor, because even if the discomfort passes, this does not mean that the inflammatory process has stopped. It just went into a latent phase and will gradually destroy your health and destroy the prostate gland.

The best option is a preventive examination by a urologist every six months with diagnostic palpation of the prostate, microscopy of its secretions, ultrasound and blood test for PSA. Thus, you protect yourself not only from the negative consequences of advanced chronic prostatitis, but also from adenoma and prostate cancer.

Treatment of prostatitis

Modern methods of treatment of prostatitis include the following types:

  • drug treatment (prescribing antiviral and antifungal drugs);
  • maintenance therapy (prescribing immunostimulating drugs, taking nutritional supplements);
  • urological massage (prostate massage);
  • LOD-therapy (method using low pressure to restore potency);
  • a set of special physical exercises for relaxation;
  • doctor's recommendations on nutrition, lifestyle, sexual relations.

During treatment, I use the best methods of advanced medical centers and my own developments, which give excellent results.

Congestive (congestive) prostatitis

congestive prostatitis

Treatment of congestive prostatitis poses certain difficulties, because the causes of such inflammation of the prostate gland are the lifestyle and sexual activity of this man. Accordingly, only the patient himself can influence these processes, not the doctor directly. However, it is possible to help patients even in such a difficult situation. For the treatment of congestive or congestive prostatitis, a special complex therapy has been developed that allows to eliminate the effect of blood stagnation in the prostatic venous plexus and the secretion of the prostate in its channels and acini.

Treatment of congestive prostatitis

After initial diagnosis, including:

  • Analysis of prostate secretion for microscopy, STI, cultures
  • Blood test for PSA
  • General urine and blood tests
  • Blood chemistry
  • Ultrasound of the prostate gland and its venous plexus
  • renal ultrasound

Chronic congestive prostatitis is diagnosed, a drug treatment complex and necessary procedures are prescribed, which include:

  • Prostate massage through the rectum is necessary to remove leukocyte jams, mucus and prostatic inflammatory secretions from the gland ducts. It is the main treatment procedure that also improves blood flow in the prostate gland, which plays a role in the fight against blood stagnation.

Massage is performed by a urologist. The duration of the session is from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Quantity from 10 per course. The price is 600 rubles.

Even if the patient does not have the opportunity to complete the full course of treatment for congestive prostatitis, he should attend at least 10 massage sessions. Taking a single drug in the treatment of prostate congestion does not have the desired effect.

  • Vibromassage of the prostate is a very good and effective procedure for the treatment of congestive prostatitis. With the help of a special device that creates vibration, heat and a magnetic field, blood supply to the gland improves, adhesion of leukocyte plugs to the walls of the prostate gland weakens, which facilitates their removal during subsequent finger massage. It is usually done right before the massage session.
  • Magnetic laser therapy improves blood flow and trophism of the gland, removes inflammatory products from it, and removes swelling. Many patients feel its effect in the first days of treatment in the form of a decrease in pain and a feeling of tension in the prostate area.

This treatment of congestive prostatitis has long proven itself and has been successfully used for many years, constantly updated, including new modern methods and approaches. Chronic congestive prostatitis can and should be treated, achieving long-term remission and significantly improving the quality of life of the modern man.

BPH

BPH

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or adenoma of the prostate gland as it is now called, is a chronic disease that occurs mainly in older men after the age of at least 50 years. After 70 years, more than 50% of men already have complications of this disease. Although there are cases of its earlier development.

Prostate adenoma is accompanied by growth of its gland and stromal (connective) tissue. As a result, nodules are formed in the thickness of the gland, and when they reach a large size, they begin to squeeze the surrounding tissues - the bladder, urethra, rectum, and sometimes the ureters, and disrupt the normal functioning of these organs.

Reasons for the development of prostate adenoma

The development of prostate adenoma is associated with hormonal imbalance in older and older men, that is, a kind of manifestation of "male menopause". Over the years, there is a decrease in the production of the main male hormone testosterone by the testicles and an increase in the content of the female hormone estradiol (especially in men with a high body fat mass). It has been proven that female hormones have a direct negative effect on the prostate gland, as well as an increase in the production of dihydrotestosterone in prostate cells, which leads to the active growth of its tissue and the development of benign hyperplasia of the prostate gland, that is, adenoma.

The causes that lead to the development and progression of BPH can also be:

  • hypodynamia - sedentary lifestyle
  • alcohol abuse and smoking
  • fatty, cholesterol-rich, spicy, spicy foods
  • low sexual activity

Chronic prostatitis, in principle, is not the cause of prostate adenoma, but contributes to clearer symptoms and the rapid development of complications of prostate hyperplasia with its simultaneous course.

Symptoms of prostate adenoma

Symptoms of prostate adenoma depend on the stage of the disease, its decompensation, the development of complications and the direction of tumor growth.

  • First, there are signs of difficulty urinating, slow urine flow, up to 15-20 constant urges per day, nocturia - urination at night.
  • Later, as the muscles of the bladder weaken, pains in the lower part of the abdomen become uncomfortable, there is a feeling that the bladder is not completely emptied, urine is secreted in parts, drop by drop, and the abdominal muscles need to be strained. It ends with the complete loss of the detrusor - the muscles of the bladder that expel urine.
  • When combined with chronic prostatitis, pain in the perineum, rectum, fever, discharge of mucus and pus from the urethra are observed.
  • Urine changes color, becomes cloudy, may contain drops of blood.
  • Sexual function is impaired.
  • With the growth of prostate adenoma towards the triangle of the urinary bladder formed by the mouths of the ureters and the urethra, obstruction of the ureters and disruption of the flow of urine from the kidneys occurs, which ends in the faster development of chronic kidney disease. failure and urolithiasis.

The main complications of prostate adenoma:

  • Acute urinary retention - requires emergency catheterization of the bladder.
  • As a result of urinary stasis, urinary stone disease and inflammation of the kidneys (pyelonephritis), bladder (cystitis) and urethra develop.
  • The appearance of blood in the urine.

Chronic kidney failure is a serious complication that can lead to death.

Treatment of prostate adenoma

In the clinic, the most effective drug treatment is carried out for prostate adenoma without surgery, that is, benign hyperplasia of the prostate gland at the 1st and sometimes the 2nd stage.

Surgical treatment of prostate adenoma is carried out by decompensation, a large growth of prostate adenoma towards the triangle of the bladder. It comes in different types:

  • starting with open transvesical adenomectomy - removal of the tumor through the bladder
  • ending with minimally invasive methods, when the urethra is freed from the adenoma tissue with radio waves and laser techniques from the urethra with the help of an electric knife, or the hyperplastic areas of the prostate are completely removed.

In order not to immediately suggest an operation for prostate adenoma at the first visit to the urologist, it is necessary to undergo an annual examination of the prostate gland, an ultrasound examination and a blood test for PSA.

prostate massage

One of the most common and very effective treatment and diagnostic procedures in urology and venereology is prostate massage (prostate). This manipulation has been used by urologists for a long time and is familiar to almost all patients with diseases of the prostate gland, seminal vesicles and STDs.

Why is prostate massage used?

Prostate massage can be used in two cases:

for diagnostic purposes:

  • Obtaining prostate secretion for microscopic analysis
  • The presence of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, gonorrhea, etc. ) in the prostate is determined by PCR, PIF, etc. determination methods.
  • Taking material for culture, determining microflora and sensitivity to antibiotics
  • Obtaining subjective information about pain, density, size of the gland - the so-called diagnostic palpation of the prostate

for therapeutic purposes:

  • to free the ducts of the gland from leukocyte congestion and mucus
  • improving blood circulation in the prostate, which leads to better penetration of drugs into its tissue and elimination of congestion.

When is prostate massage prescribed?

Prostate massage is prescribed for various men's health problems, such as:

  • chronic bacterial and bacterial prostatitis
  • chronic vesiculitis - massage the prostate and seminal vesicles
  • chronic and sluggish urethritis
  • prostatitis caused by genital infections
  • erectile dysfunction and infertility associated with prostate diseases
  • for preventive purposes in the treatment of late-stage STDs

Prostate massage is not performed during acute purulent inflammation of the genitals!

How is prostate massage performed?

There are several classic prostate massage positions.

The most common is the knee-elbow position, in which the patient stands on the couch with his knees and arms bent at the elbows and bent at the waist.

In diseases of the spine, old age, large body weight, it is possible to take a position on the left side with the legs bent at the knees brought to the stomach.

While massaging the seminal vesicles, the patient stands on the sofa with his back to the doctor and in a semi-squatting position.

During the massage of the prostate gland, the urologist's index finger is inserted into the patient's rectum and alternately begins to massage the right and left lobe of the prostate, ending with the interlobar groove (isthmus). During this manipulation, which lasts from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, the doctor receives information about the pain, size, consistency, surface, furrow severity of the gland and can take the secret of the prostate for analysis.

During prostate massage, there may be some discomfort, urge to urinate, feeling of pressure in the lower abdomen, penis. With severe pain, the massage stops.

It is very important that this procedure is performed by a qualified and experienced urologist or venereologist in order not to harm the man and not to harm the prostate.

Vibromassage of the prostate

vibrating prostate massage for the treatment of prostatitis

Vibromassage of the prostate - use of vibration, magnetic field and heat in the treatment of chronic prostatitis. This type of physiotherapy improves blood circulation and nutrition of the prostate tissue. Vibromassage helps to remove leukocyte congestion from the ducts of the gland. Calculosis with prostatitis - one of the alternatives to finger massage. The duration of the session is from 10 to 20 minutes.

Prevention of prostatitis

Prevention of prostatitis consists in preventing predisposing factors that cause prostatitis, as well as:

  • Try not to freeze for a long time, if you stay in a cold room or on the street for a long time, pay attention to suitable clothes.
  • Use laxatives for constipation and do not torture yourself.
  • If you have a sedentary job, give yourself a "gym break" every hour (or at least stand up and take a walk).
  • Try to have a regular sex life, because it is completely compatible with a person's normal lifestyle and allows you to avoid not only prostatitis, but many problems.
  • Try to eat regularly and well, lead an active lifestyle, not get sick, and finally, just think about your health from time to time.

Also, don't forget to visit a urologist regularly.
